GiveReads has published a field journal from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is not a claim that we operate a national school system. It is a record of empty shelves in rooms where teachers are still trying to teach children to read.
What we carried home was a working rule: do not confuse a visit with a victory. Language fit, durability, and a receiving classroom matter more than a slogan. The organization exists to keep moving books after the journal is written.
